Rapid Transit Systems - Bus Train Subway

A great way to save on gas is taking alternative measures of transportation.
An additional benefit of doing so is your company employer may offer an incentive program to employees who basically, lessen the amoutn of driving to and from work.
This includes riding a bike, walking, car pools, van pools, and mass transit systems like:
- Taking the bus
- Taking a commuter train
- Taking a subway
There are other benefits as well.
If your commute is a long one, you can -
- take a nap
- read a book
- watch dvd’s/tv
- get some of your work done
- do homework
- meet people
and the list goes on and on… it’s up to you.
No to mention the fact that you won’t be sitting in stop and go traffic and dealing with that stress. Instead you’ll be relaxing and enjoying other activities until you reach your destination.
You can do a google search for rtd (rapid transit district) and your city to see what’s offered. Depending on where you live, your choices may be limited and we’ll speak on other options in another post.
But for now, talk to some of your co-workers and see if they are taking the bus, train, or subway. It’s alot more enjoyable when there’s someone along for the ride with you. Unless of course you’d rather take a nap. At any rate, they can help with figuring out routes, tokens and passes to get you started.
Several of my colleagues take the metro rail into work. This is because they live further out, 30 -60 miles from the office (home prices are cheaper). They carry laptops which can be fitted with a wireless adapter or connected to their cell phone for internet connections. It’s a great way to accomplish more tasks when you arrive at the office because you’ve already had a chance to
